It's getting serious...
It's time to send files to your engineer!
When you're ready, click here to upload

For sharing multitrack files (for example, when you have one file for the kick drum, one for the snare, one for rack tom, one for floor tom, etc rather than all of these pieces mixed together into one file):

  • All files must have the same bit depth and sample rate

  • Files should be in the same format (bit depth/sample rate) as the native project. In other words, export it with the same settings you used to create the files. We'll handle any conversion.

  • Files must be the same length so that we can drop them into a project and the audio syncs up as it should

  • File names should follow this convention: artist name_song name_instrument

  • Mono (1-channel) WAV files

  • Include a reference WAV or mp3 or "bounce" of the mix so we can hear how things should line up

For sharing stems or masters (stems are when all of your drums are mixed into a single, two-channel file, for example. Masters are completed mixes, generally in a 2-channel format. Check with your engineer about 5.1 or immersive masters):
  • 24 bit, 48kHz or better WAV files preferred. All files must have the same bit depth and sample rate.

  • Files should be in the same format (bit depth/sample rate) as the native project. In other words, export it with the same settings you used to create the files. We'll handle any conversion.

  • Stereo (2-channel) WAV files

  • Ensure that there are a couple of beats of silence at the beginning and end of each file and that effects are not cut off

  • Files uploaded for mastering should be named using this convention: artist name_album name_two-digit track number_song title (for example: The Beatles_Revolver_02_Eleanor Rigby)

  • Leave 3 dB of headroom and plenty of dynamic range (15 to 20 decibels difference from quietest to loudest part of the song is a good starting place, depending on genre)

  • If you have ISRC codes that you'd like us to include in the metadata, please include a spreadsheet with song titles and associated codes with your file upload

  • A square .jpg of album art, if applicable (this appears on some screens when a CD is playing)

  • For masters, please also fill out this form

TL;DR

TLDR; Please send the highest quality version of your files that exist, such as WAVs rather than mp3s. Your engineer will specify if some other format is preferred. Can't wait to work with you!
