Studio Recording
Our studio features our Yamaha C6 piano, a 7-foot grand with an excellent reputation. We have condenser, ribbon and dynamic microphones from Neumann, AEA, AKG, Beyer and Shure along with tube and solid-state pre-amplifiers. The studio includes 3 isolation rooms in addition to the main room. We also have a Hammond organ, on permanent loan from our friend Ben Sidran. Our modular headphone system lets each musician create their own monitor mix during recording.

We use Pro Tools HD which we keep up-to-date with the latest upgrades, and we have a large variety of plug-ins, including the WAVES platinum bundle. Our studio has provided a creative environment for clients ranging from high school students auditioning for colleges or summer music programs, to the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Richard Davis and the Pro Arte Quartet, to our non-musical clients such as the Onion Radio News, the Progressive Magazine and the Kathleen Show.

On-location Recording
We have made pro audio recordings and mixed sound in Madison’s Overture Center, Milwaukee’s Uihlein Hall, Chicago’s Hot House, and facilities from Duluth, MN to Dallas, TX. We've provided sound mixing and recording services for an outdoor choral and orchestral concert in Dayton, Ohio; a national convention in San Francisco, California; and recitals and performances by professional musicians and students of all ages, including the Madison Symphony Orchestra, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Wisconsin Music Education Association, Ani DiFranco and her band, the Art Ensemble of Chicago, The Cork and Bottle String Band, Patti Smith, Paul Black and many various ensembles, companies, schools and foundations. Our remote recording equipment includes two Alesis HD24 recorders for up to 48 tracks, or a Digidesign 003 Rack for 8 tracks of recording into ProTools. We also have a wide array of tube and solid state mic pre-amps, a Soundcraft 32 channel console, and a 40 channel transformer-isolated splitter.
